Feel like Family at Ghost Note Brewing in Dripping Springs

On an early Friday summer evening I sat down at a picnic table with Thelma and Kenny Coleman, the owners of Ghost Note Brewing, to share a pint and hear how their business came to be.

I’m honestly not sure if there is a nicer couple out there than Thelma and Kenny. Warm smiles and relaxed energy just radiate from these two, making you feel like you’ve known them for years and that you’ve settled into their backyard more than their bustling brewery. I asked them both “Why open a brewery?” and Kenny answered that they always loved hosting and creating experiences for people – by opening Ghost Note they took that passion and made it into a business.

The brewery has loads of outdoor seating, games, and a newly built playground. Live music is a big part of the vibe here so come ready to hear a variety of tunes on the weekends. The brewery is family friendly and dog friendly (on a leash) so you can bring the whole gang out to enjoy some Ghost Note hospitality!

Outside of chatting with Kenny and Thelma I also got to meet Tyrell, their Head Brewer, who hails from Thirsty Planet. My IPA was fantastic (flavorful but not overly hoppy, which is right up my alley). I asked Tyrell what he was working on and get excited y’all because he’s got plans for an easy drinking Pilsner coming before the 4th of July (exactly what we want in the Texas heat) and possibly an open top Saison (now he’s speaking my beer love language!).

Now, don’t you worry about going hungry at Ghost Note because Hangry’s Streatery is there to feed you some DELISH food. This is not your normal food truck, y’all! I am talking elevated classics like the Hangry Dog topped with Brisket, Goat Cheese, Fried Shallots and an Alabama White Sauce. Ok, I have to stop typing out the menu because my goodness it’s making me hungry! You’ll have to trust me that it’s amazing and he’s even got goodness for the kiddos to enjoy.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Ghost Note and chatting with Kenny and Thelma, who now feel more like friends than strangers. Make sure to follow them on social media to stay up to date on the live music schedule, menu updates, and more! You can follow them on Instagram at @ghostnotebeer and like their Facebook Page linked here.

Cheers, y’all!
